Sandpit Games at Duty Free
On Saturday 26 July, we headed over to Stoke Newington International Airport (note: not actually an airport) for Duty Free, an afternoon featuring bands, a barbecue, and juggling from the Airport crowd, with an assortment of mostly-new Sandpit games running on-and-off between 4 and 8pm.
Games included:
Congestion Zone: Try to find your way out of an ill-conceived one way system whilst keeping your road-rage at bay.
Animal Mayhem: Pick up your animal identity when you arrive, create an Animal Challenge, and try to fulfill the Animal Challenges that other players have set while being captured by the Zoo Paparazzi.
Fishing for Compliments: Apply for a temporary fishing licence, then use it to hunt for compliments.
The Lost Sport of Olympia: Another training session for the increasingly popular game of humming, running and human mazes.
Standoff: Employ double-bluffs and finger-guns to get more than your fair share when the heist goes wrong.
Hunt the Scavenger: Searching for treasure in Clissold Park, while hunting down the other players.
Grandmother’s Footsteps: The playground game, presided over by an enormous, terrifying grandmother costume.
Plus the usual assortment of pick-up-and-play games, and a park five minutes’ down the road to run around in.
