Sandpit #2
Sandpit #2 - Listening
Wednesday 19th March 2008
Friends, Londoners, gamespeople! Lend us your ears! You have nothing to lose but your inhibitions. We have a smorgasbord of aural delights in store for you at this month’s Sandpit. In addition to the scheduled events listed below, there’ll be Chinese Circus Whispers, Tug-of-Tag, something mysterious from Liability Eden, cake-hunting, Werewolf, and more.
Come along to Shunt on Wednesday the 19th of March. Games start from around seven o’clock. Entry to Shunt is £5 for the night; the games themselves are all free. If you’ve not been to Shunt before, access is through an unmarked door in the wall of Joiner Street, which actually runs through the lower level of London Bridge station.
Schedule
The four main games are now fully booked. If you turn up on the night, you might be able to get a place where someone else has dropped out, and we may well end up running extra rounds of some of the most popular games, long into the night.
There’s unlimited, unreserved room for the games of Chinese Circus Whispers, Tug-of-Tag, Werewolf, Nomic and all the other background games, so there’s still plenty to do on the night if you’ve not booked.
Find your team-mates running around the streets of London Bridge, using only call-and-response animal noises. Holla-Lulu is played outdoors; the game will start from the Penthouse in Shunt at 7.30 sharp.
7:30 - 8:00pm.
Freemasons
A game played by masters, serfs and freemen that produces musical results. With kazoos and shakers, from Halal Kebab Hut. The game runs again at 9:00pm.
8:00 - 8:45, repeated at 9:00 - 9:45.
Thoughtcrime
Eavesdrop on people’s very private thoughts, and then steal their things.
8:30 - 8:50, repeated at 9:00 - 9:20.
Ongoing games
Chinese Circus Whispers, Tug-of-Tag, Cake-Hunting, Werewolf, Nomic, Paper Telephone, The Hat Game, The Hipbone Game, Mao, Dadaist Pursuit, and more. No registration required.
7:30 - midnight.
